How to get to St. Andrews?

By air

Edinburgh Airport is situated 50 miles from St Andrews. There are direct transfer buses from the airport to St Andrews. The airport has 24 hour shuttle bus and tram line to the city centre from where you can find connections to St Andrews.

Aberdeen Airport and Glasgow Airport have regular connections to the respective city centres from where St Andrews could be reached by bus or train.

By train

The nearest train station to St Andrews is Leuchars six miles away from the town. For those travelling by train, we recommend to take Edinburgh to Aberdeen train, which stops at Leuchars. There are direct trains from London to Aberdeen, which stop at Leuchars.

Another option is the Caledonian Overnight Sleeper, which runs between London Euston and Leuchars.

St Andrews could be reached from Leuchars by bus, taxi or car.

By bus

The Stagecoach in Fife 99 service runs from St Andrews to Dundee, via Leuchars approximately every 15 minutes during the day. The bus journey from St Andrews to Leuchars takes around 15 minutes. Visitors looking to travel to or from Edinburgh should look out for the X58, X59 and X60 Stagecoach services, which take around two hours. Stagecoach also offer bus services to Glasgow, via the X24, X26 and X27 services, which take around two and a half hours.
